At a special meeting of the Council of the N.Z.F.A. held last week, preliminary details of the projected tour of the Chinese team to visit New Zealand during the forthcoming season were gone into. The approximate cost of the tour is somewhere In the vicinity of £4300. The various associations will be called upon to help towards the initial cost required to float the tour. The four main associations will be asked to guarantee £350 each, the Poverty Bay, South Auckland and Southland Associations each £150, and £100 from each of the other minor associations. A total of £2000 is required to set the tour m motion; gate receipts will, it is anticipated, easily cover the deficiency. A full itinerary for the tour has ns yet not been drawn up, but it is possible that twenty games will be played. Provided the weather conditions are good, large attendances are anticipated and gate returns should therefore be more than satisfactory.NZ Truth , Issue 958, 5 April 1924, Page 9
